I recently had my annual review with my manager. I'm a little above a 2.5 and did not receive a bonus. I've been on a written warning for my ACW being 2+ mins. I've since improved and have gotten it below 2 mins and yet I'm receiving another warning about it. It seems like all of a sudden there's a lot of pressure that I can be terminated if I don't hit goal metrics in the coming weeks. Is this a common scare tatic nowadays? An impending termination to expidite the layoff process? Or I am overthinking things?

Are on a PIP? I didn't say that in your post. But you may be able to crawl out of this if you just tow the line with your manager.
Former TIAA people manager...if you got no bonus your time is coming to an end at the earliest moment they can get rid of you. Just a matter of HR getting all of their documentation ducks in a row. In the meantime, they are hoping you'll make it easy and take the hint and leave on your own. If you are let go for cause, there's no severence, however, they will may still offer you one simply to limit any potential lawsuits etc. if you check the right boxes.
If you got no bonus, you don't recover. And when you're fired for poor performance, you don't get severance. So get a new job asap.
You gone, bro. We envy you.
not sure what this has to do with TIAA layoffs?
The person saying the u5 doesnt understand what goes on a u5. Getting fired for not meeting call metrics doesnt go on your u5
Definitely look for another job. The writing is on the wall.
I agree with the others, do your best rn forward but try to find a new job elsewhere asap, especially if you are in a registered role. It will be noted on your FINRA U5 as being let go for not meeting the standards of your role. Easier to find a new job without your U5 "dinged".
OP, from prior experience at other firms, when you get written warnings, you need to find a new gig asap while doing your best to be the best employee possible. It su-ks, but it doesn’t su-k as bad as trying to find a gig when you don’t have one.
Best of luck!
Sounds like they’re targeting you. I hate to say it and hope it’s not true but it’s how they do when they want to cut people.
