I got basically nothing so I had to immediately find a job. Now that I have done so I can finally speak on this... Ally su-ks. The amount I was given was laughable. To all my friends who still work there, I pity you... the grass has indeed proven to be MUCH MUCH greener. I realize just how underpaid and underappreciated I was at Ally. The best thing that ever happened to me, I also know the "do it right" mantra is complete bull.

I worked at Ally for the majority of last year and for several years before that. I worked my way through early talent and got a promotion at Ally that was still pennies compared to what I was worth. I went to my boss and told him I need more money to stay. I ended up getting head hunted to a financial services company. It has been great and I hate Ally now lol.
Sorry you lost your Job. Sounds like you landed on your feet quick. I quit working there a while back, Ally was my first real big boy job. The job progression, pay, work life balance, and opportunities at my new company and others seem to have the same experience.
As a junior developer at Ally it was so sink or swim, there is very little direction and the ambiguity leaves a lot of questions which often don't have time to be answered. If story points had more context or some write up from the business that would be really really helpful.
I wont say anything bad about Ally as it was my home for awhile and they did take a chance on me. I like to believe that I added value and they got a good ROI on me. My salary is now a little over 2x what it was just a year ago and my title is higher than my friends who stayed. So if career progression/money is your goal I would recommend moving.
