I’m a very frustrated manager. My “bucket” was so low to give employees for AIP but we are getting more and more projects to kick off with no staff. This is so shameful. I’m so tired of this “snow card” waiting for these committees to meet but in the meantime needing to show a 7-1 need for a role. And no my AIP is not much more than my staff..it’s a 2% difference and mine while be very low too. The executives pass all these “initiatives” off to the VP of Staffs with no regard to how it needs to get done. We do not have technology or the capabilities to capture or automate data that is needed to do these initiatives. I can tell you not one VP or above is worried about their bonuses only when they can take their next trip to the Caribbean. I’m saddened and frustrated. Shame on you executive leadership!!! I am researching my next career move because I don’t want to be a part of this anymore. Our members are suffering from dated systems, dysfunctional communication, delayed care with under staffing while I hear everyday..”there is no funding for that” BS!!! Take it from the almost billion dollars in executive leadership bonuses and stock! Shameful!!

@1vm+1jjnjezkq Right, maybe the people in the Philippines. Since they are taking all the jobs
Who the FU-K downvotes these threads??
I just picture Gail or Jim or Felicia scrolling through to down vote these 😂 the -1 so many comments have
Look no other place than to the top. The guy running the division is a horrible leader - made his way up through the ranks by pointing out everyone else's issues, but in the meantime he never delivers and is not held accountable for the messes he has created. I'm sure he has already found someone else to blame for his Carelon failures.
Mar 13 is when AIP is paid out. Mass exodus time.
What happens on March 13?
Another blood bath for Carelon?
@PennyFools
Nothing is worth constant worry about lay offs, having to see great team mates leave as off shoring grows. This company will replace you unless than a month. Go where your work is appreciated, valued…where your salary and years of services matter enough for a decent raise. This company is a shell of what it is to be in years past. The core values no longer stand or have merit. AIP is an after thought of Pennie’s left in order say they gave something.
Add Marketing to the flat lying comment. The dishonesty runs thick and then the teams are left with crazy unrealistic expectations to fulfill lies told to clients. I blame low AIP on greed, executive leadership failure to do right by members served and the employees and take off their horse blinders, and Gail’s ridiculous initiatives including all the hybrid return to the office nonsense…how much has that cost? I will not let this company take any more of my life and happiness. It’s not worth it. Life is a blink of an eye…
100% agree and to add that Sales commits to services that are unrealistic to our current capabilities is appalling. Sales knows darn well they are flat out lying to clients everyday about our capabilities and process times.
I’m relieved to see team members with the same frustrations. Everyday it’s add this project but we can’t give you additional resources or put this process in place but there is no funding for automation or bandwidth in shared services to support the process. It’s sad we fight for crumbs, we fight till we are exhausted to support our members, we fight for decent merit raises and Leadership is silent. I’m not willing to sacrifice happiness in my life for this company. There is zero passion in what we do. Yeah ok they have volunteer days and ways to support charity…it’s a fake front for tax write offs or it wouldn’t exist. Disgraceful, it’s a betrayal to our core values.
@dr+1jjnjezkq truly the same on the elevance/medicaid side. I expect a mass exodus by my team this year, or for them to do bare minimum. There's nothing to work towards, not even staying employed.
Carelon is a soul su-king drainage of any mental capacity. AIP is pennies…leadership doesn’t care. Our members suffer everyday from our lack of ability to maintain technology that allows for proper UM and claims functions causing delayed cared and improper payments every minute of the day. Stage a walk out…protest.
Carelon is a dumping ground for all things dysfunctional. Leadership blames Medicaid lines of business for low AIP’s but themselves will have record bonuses…hmmm? As a manager I don’t know how to keep a smiling face and keep up moral on my team anymore. I haven’t been here long but I had a gut feeling that I made a terrible mistake. I have already started applying and interviewing. It will not get better. It will not ease. There is nothing I can do to support my team and keep healthy mentally. Carelon is a resource drought. I too hear everyday that there is no funding or implementation processes were not road mapped or prioritized.
Best of luck after Mar 13.
Here's the money quote:
"Take it from the almost billion dollars in executive leadership bonuses and stock."
100%, OP. 100%.
It is very sad that a company of this size can’t “afford” to give raises to employees that have not had merit increases in almost 2 years. On the flip side, we are given more work with fewer employees and expected to manage our workload just as efficiently as when we were fully staffed. I am currently looking for employment opportunities outside of Elevance that will compensate me for my knowledge and work experience.
Manager here too…these AIP buckets are a disgrace and I’m also faced with team members on QIP who really aren’t affected because QIP doesn’t really change much for them during the year but then are frustrated (I get it) because there is no merit or bonus at the end of the year because my bucket is small and I need to give to those on AIP…these team members all make the same salary range. Then I have too ask them to do triple the work and launch 5 initiatives at the same time with no resources or tech funding to support. I’m over it and also revamped my resume because this is a dysfunctional mess and puts our members we serve in jeopardy everyday. I’m so disappointed in our leadership team…do better!
Same here. The newer management's mindset is outsourcing the work to vendors. Hence they do not want to hire or grow. I feel, the SLT will then put pressure to outsource the work to vendors, for the same reason of no work getting delivered on time. I only wish for this dust to settle soon.
Manager here - same story. Pitiful AIP, but consistently being asked to do more with less. And when there’s an issue with delivery (because it’s an unrealistic ask), guess who’s responsible? Not leadership - not the ones who made the decision to under staff or to send half the work to Carelon. There is no accountability for those who make the decisions here.
I came from one our direct competitors and was shocked by how outdated the systems were, and how outdated the technology folks were. What a mess.
Company is on a path to becoming a shell company.
