US companies are pulling back on diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, as right-wing pressure leads companies to alter their commitment to hiring diverse candidates and expanding access. Trump is ending DEI, do you think HCSC will follow?

For some, DEI is code word for ‘get rid of the White men’. For others, DEI is code word for LGBTQ+, and for others, DEI is code word for equity and not equality.
I’m ok with Culture of Caring.
Burned out with DEI
As a BRG leader, today I learned that HCSC no longer has a DEI team, and all references to DEI have been removed from the website. We no longer have a “culture of inclusion”, we have a “culture of caring”. No announcements.
This may appease the feds (until they realize it’s just a rebranding exercise), but we will see how the city and state leadership in Illinois feels about it.
Check the website.
Another "diverse" individual here, and my sentiments exactly 👇🏽
"Diverse" doesn't mean what you think it does. Diverse means people who think differently and take different approaches to solutions. You cannot tell that by a person's skin color and it is racist to think you can. You are choosing the best individual to fulfill a need, not picking paint chips to redecorate your room. As one of those "diverse" people myself I find it incredibly offensive to dismiss who I am as an individual and boil me down to a skin color. I hope this disgusting mess dies off everywhere.
Yes. Trust me on this, it is going away.

Admissions officers judge one's merit by looking at one's past accomplishments and circumstances. But merit is not just about one's past—it is about one's future potential.

Probably not. Hcsc su-ks
I wonder if any of the 40 or so states that need to approve the Cigna purchase will require a commitment to end DEI programs as a prerequisite to approval.
If the rules for contractors end up extending to health insurance companies with government programs then...maybe? Otherwise I doubt it. BRGs drive employee retention and our industry is different from the consumer dynamics of some other industries that have been affected by anti-DEI 'activism.'
No it will just get reinstated after his four years is up
