T has a habit of being out of the country on one boondoggle or another when significant employment action takes place.. This time she’s living it up in Davos Switzerland with her cronies (at significant expense) while 100 people lost their jobs.

I completely agree with @d4+1jjdjg8cc in their assessment.
However, only us “insiders” know that our house is one fire. To the rest of the world, it looks like TIAA is fine. It’s why the board won’t cut what we pay to participants to the minimum. It would signal to the market we have issues. That’s why these “leaders” continue to pretend it’s business as usual.
I can't speak for others, but for me it's poor optics. TIAA's house is on fire, and literally whenever you look for the CEO she is off in Switzerland, Paris, or at some meaningless conference repeating the same stories. Shaq would do a better job being our brand ambassador and that says something.
This entitled culture from our CEO feeds down to the EC and their managers. TIAA is losing billions, but they are more focused on bragging and self-promotion on social media. With the amount of issues that our company is facing, social media and traveling all around the globe should be the last priority. The look at me mentality when the company is in this bad of shape just makes them look weak and non competent for their roles.
Not sure why she's in Davos repeating the same stories she has been for the last 3 years, but did you expect her to be in the US notifying the people herself?
I never know what's more ridiculous- our CEO and EC or the clueless employees who come here to post.
The company was crashing before with these long time employees and it's crashing now with the new CEO.
Starting to think that the company is a dinosaur that was so big it'll take 50 years to ki-l, but it's demise is inevitable. Luckily all of us will be retired when it finally happens.
TIAA is HER world and you’re just living in it. Once you’ve come to terms with that it doesn’t sting as much.
I was there 13 years and thought I’d stay until retirement. The place I joined years ago and stayed so long for isn’t the same. The company I believed in, the culture and people I loved to work with day in and day out are gone.
Unlock the golden handcuffs and get a new job, I assure you grass is much greener on the other side and you’ll thrive without the toxicity!
I didn’t realize how toxic that place was until I left, it affected my physical and mental health. I might make a little less now but the peace of mind and less stressful life is priceless!
The CEO is doing her same sermon in Davos as past several years.
