Leaving Humana after too many years, and I couldn’t be more pleased. Constant threat of layoffs, restructuring and maltreatment will no longer be a part of my existence . Didn’t realize how much the company has declined until about a year ago. Humana was a great place to work for many years, but once the project growth team came in like a wrecking ball, the place is no longer an employer of choice. I would rather go back to the hospital than stay in this toxic environment. Good riddance Humana, you won’t be missed!!!

For those screaming about DEI and how it has ruined this company and others- you do realize that all marginalized groups fall within this category, don't you? ALL women (not just persons of color), different ethnicities, disabled persons, military veterans, women with children entering the workplace, socioeconomic classes, and religious differences! These are qualified/educated people that had never been given a "seat at the table" I have seen so many people get promoted to jobs that they are NOT qualified for just because they happen to look like upper leadership, their promotions are not based on merit. Just last week two people in my department were promoted- not sure why, but we all get the picture! So stop using DEI as a scape-goat for all of your problems.
The are so focused on automation and staff reduction they dont seem to care about the member, provider, or employee experience any more. The longer you are there the more they try to push you out because your experience and knowledge becomes an obstacle for mid level managers i dont believe the senior leadership has clue about what is going on in operations As long as its being reported as moving forward they bury their heads in the sand.
I left after 18 years and you are 100% right.
the installation of Obama , ACA , DEI etc absolutely ruined Humana. I was fired during this period for being competent conservative American. Did not go quietly. I tried to tell them that their actions would not end well. To my great joy, they continue to be delightfully stupid
To the 5 downvotes- I’m assuming you’re corporate bootlickers that enjoy being unhappy. Just wait til you’re treated like garbage!
Seems like the DEI Humana isn't working so well. I contacted 4 people with names I couldn't pronounce and they were rude and had NO CLUE.
I quit Humana back at the end of 2023 and I've never been happier. They replaced my amazing manager with someone who had no clue what she doing and had no interest or care about the people she was managing. After that, my colleagues left in droves. I started with an area of 11ish agents... by the time I left, there was 1 left. I unfortunately only saw the bad things. But I heard it was a great place before I started there! They tanked themselves. They were toxic about growth and constantly shoved it down our throats. Im glad to see companies like this get run into the ground.
I was on the military side of Humana. Technical issues kept arising like when they sent me a phone whose buttons were covered in a sticky mess and didn't work. They told me don't worry we won't judge your adherence while they fixed it, but then used that adherence to fire me. Someone from. HR was like clean out your 401k immediately as you will never work here again. I use what I learned to help military families without any pay and went on to work for a more reputable place. I'm glad to be gone. The military side has a huge turnover rate, the Medicare side is a mess... Nothing good comes after the statement Humana is...
have been with Humana 20 years and the area I work, I'm happy. Out director is amazing our teams just flow, I mean have a stressful work load don't get me wrong. However the negative things I see people post I don't personally see that, but it all boils down to your leadership.
Just had to rif my team recently. I'm trying to find work but haven't had any luck. I've been with this company for 2 yrs and I've never seen it this bad. The Medicaid sector is a mess and some of these folks they give market Leadership to have no clue how to manage people. Half the time I think they let them move to the markets because they have nowhere else to put them and they arent being productive anywhere else. I came to Humana because of the reputation in the provider/clinic space was better than most but following the UHC incident, humanas scandals this past year and the constant revolving door of teams id take my non profit clinic mgmt role back in a heartbeat
Post ID: @h5+1jjd1b196: Exactly!! But Humana upper leadership doesn’t care. They’re only concerned about themselves and getting ahead at whatever expense necessary, as long as it doesn’t inconvenience them!!!
I truly agree with Humana was a great work place until the changes come in with the New T5 project. The began to want you to learn more than your job and wanted you to be crossed trained but refuse to up your pay according to you worth and knowledge. Upper management began to get nervous regarding there jobs and became very micromanaging.
Humana you lost a lot of tenure and good employees you should be concern about what went wrong!!
