I joined relatively recently, and what I've noticed so far is that if there's a town hall, nothing useful is going to come of it. It’s all empty talk, pre-screened questions, and avoiding anything that really matters to employees. I don't see the point, to be honest. Was it different before?

No, it's always been the same regurgitation of statements reworded with the latest buzzwords. Waste of time and a morale buster. Connect to the meeting, mute sound, do something else. Ahhhhh, that's better!
I remember a time when the townhall meetings didn't exist neither did monthly manager 1x1s and being on back to back calls all day. This actually wasn't that long ago crazy how everything has changed for the worse.

100% TRUE! I miss those days ❤️
It’s always the same performative song and dance. Profits were X, but then the hand slap comes with we needed profits to be higher. Then the follow up actions of RIFs and low AIP’s. So no, not useful.
Those prescreened questions PI-S me off
