I’ve been with Chevron for almost ten years now, and I’m exhausted. The work environment is increasingly toxic, work is becoming unrealistically demanding, and one still has no sense of a professional achievement. There are no career opportunities anymore - we all are just floating around until our jobs are offshored or otherwise eliminated. Money is not everything. I would gladly do a less paid job, if it would bring some sense of accomplishment and a reasonable balance to life.

It wouldn’t be the first company I’ve left for less money. When you need a change, you make a change. It doesn’t have to be for more money, just has to be enough money. Invariably you catch up quickly anyway.
I’ve never been one to hang about if I’m unhappy, I learnt that lesson years ago.
I’m just exhausted on the individual that is so called leading the current work group! Unbelievable…
Chevron's executives are hyperfocused on mindless short-term financial metrics and only know how to penny-pinch their way into getting there. I doubt Wall Street is all that impressed by a company that only knows cost-cutting and has no real innovation, growth, or long-term strategy. Wall Street would be better off investing in Tesla or OpenAI.
Everyone says they would take a pay cut but how much?
Yup..just think of ways to learn skills for your next employer on chevrons current payroll..the next few years here ain’t gonna get better
Everyone I work with feels this way. I expect there will be more EOIs than mgmt anticipated especially from younger engineers.
Just raise your hand. EOI when it comes out.
Troll, if that was the case you would have resigned already.
I don’t know about you alls but I like money
Completely agree
Could not agree more
Money is not everything
Would much rather a lower paying but fulfilling job
Couldn’t agree more. Been here 17 years and feeling uninspired and stuck.
