Hi, I'm Ellen Thomas, a technology reporter at Business Insider. I'm looking to speak with people at Oracle who want to talk about layoffs. You can text or call me on the encrypted messaging app Signal at 646-847-9416 or email me at ethomas@insider.com or ellenbthomas@proton.me

Ellen, The WARN notice isn't required for Remote workers and people have to sign a strict NDA to get/keep severance, making it difficult to talk.
Companies don't have to report layoffs if the are not a large office site, which applies to many tech workers. Most layoff numbers are kept secret that way.
“Hi, I’m Ellen. You know, one of Larry’s spies from the press. He asked me to try to rope a few of you into bashing his
Mighty Empire so he can toss you out the door. Please call me, I’m waiting to chat, and I have my phone recorder ready and waiting.”
Think about this - Who ever heard of someone from some publication posting a request for interviews on a site like this? And how do you know that this is in fact the person who she claims to be? Don’t be naive. There’s more to this supposed “request” than you might think.
It’s easy - if you’re unhappy at Oracle or just tired of all the RIFs, then leave. I left several years ago and am glad I did so.
Don’t stay. They cut me so I’m headed to their top competitor, a real cloud company
If you've already been laid off, I would give Ellen a call. The more you can disclose, the more you can dissuade others from trying to join this company. #SavePeopleFromOracle
Winter is coming!
Ellen actually works for Business Insider.
I'm going to call her from a phone that has caller ID blocked and I won't give her my name. For folks who actually believe that Oracle is trying to set people up by monitoring this website, putting HR folks on here to post and so on.. I simply do not believe they give a cr*p enough do to that and choose not to spend cycles worrying that Oracle is going to those lengths and "is out to get me".
If other folks are delusional enough to keep making excuses not to leave Oracle, they are probably delusional enough to live with that level of paranoia, well you have bigger issues IMHO and I feel sorry for you.
Ellen actually works for Business Insider. Google her.. Still scary, I bet she is somehow connected to he big O. Perhaps uncle Larry, is giving her a free trip to Hawaii for all her info? Not doing it Ellen, too much Oracle trickery.. Stay well everyone please, stay on top of your mental health.
Layoffs suck, but are the part of the culture. Management go into meetings for 2 months.
, hiring and backfill stop (sounds like what’s happening again now). Everyone knows something is coming, meetings with your manager become less. Then it happens! Trust is broken. Your fired! - feel free

Absolutely but how about you string it together with the Oracle culture for the last 12 years. That’s really what contributed to their demise.
They seem to be doubling down on it as well. Instead of a culture of positivity and innovation they chose the Mark Hurd model.
Watch out everyone! This is likely an HR plant looking to get the goods on disgruntled Oracle employees. Don't end up on a RIF list simply by speaking with this plant.
