Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

They don’t care about the bigger picture at all

The higher-ups are fixated on saving every dollar, but they expect the best talent to work for peanuts. Spoiler alert: no one worth hiring is buying into that. And honestly, paying a bit more could let us hire fewer but better people, which might be more efficient. But I guess that’s not on anyone’s radar.

News flash! They NEVER did care. These are bankers we're talking here ... one level above dr-g cartels so it is foolish to expect them to care about anything but lining their own pockets.

No respectable big-boy bank would touch USB w/ a 10-ft pole. Not to mention, it's doubtful regulators would even allow it.

Where are you getting your information from that says the higher ups are trying to save money? I think we are in spend mode from what I have seen, because the finish line is a merger with a similar sized bank and all the execs can get a big payout. No reason to save money if you’re prepping for a merger.

That tracks. Recently found out that the dept I'm in will not be getting bonuses this year.

It's obvious..they only consider "best talent" to be themselves. The rest of us are interchangeable

I don’t think the higher ups are that serious about saving money. What expenses, if any, are being cut in your area? Cutting headcount saves money but also reduces productivity and hurts other employees who have to take on more work. The bank is in a no-win situation and the only way out is a merger.
