The Canadian Downstream SCM team was completely decimated the last few months. Not a single person is left on that team. All of the senior staff got moved to new positions and the junior staff got told to kick rocks and found new opportunities.
It really says a lot about what’s happening at Cenovus.

What about Canada downstream. So far I can't say it's stable...
Do the VPs still outnumber the geologists there? They did for the longest time…
So you mean retirement - no layoffs to speak of just retirements…. And retiring to seek a new role right away somewhere else….And not by choice….but because the company said it is best for them to retire.
There are downstream positions eliminated for the U.S. reorganization. I imagine that is what you are referring to. There are many boxes being reallocated to other roles deemed more impactful to the bottom line. Moving the non strategic work to the cheapest labor to get it done. Not going to be doing hiring for the near term.
