We were told this week to put our preference for Remote or In Office Workday.
I think it really says something that our working style preferences are being taken into account. Not to mention the much fairer way to handle PTO -> FTO, instead of taking it away or "burning down" as was offered in the past which really irritated long timers, they will instead freeze it (not inflation adjusted) and pay you when you leave. Then switch you to FTO.
I think these are really encouraging and builds trust in HR and leadership. Its not like they are going to terminate all remote employees for not returning to office after big life decisions were made.
Has to be a fake rumor considering how high gas prices are right now.
Trial for Engineering a success? Based on what metric seeing as Chandran is in love with OKRs? Forcing people back to the office won’t achieve increased productivity. That requires a coherent and innovative vision together with a culture that people are positive about
Strong rumours of an announcement looming in April of an RTO for everyone across all timezones, the trial for engineering 3 days a week seen as a success. Oh and those that take compressed Fridays you are being watched and that will be a thing of the past too!
I've heard some people are pulling down multiple jobs.
I submit that the majority of remote workers do not contribute as much as they would if in the office. There are exceptions, but I've caught remote people who just go to a teams meeting or two and then disappear for the rest of the day.
It was not at all subtly suggested at One Viasat.
If you are already remote, and not within driving distance of an office, I assume you’ll be fine. However, I believe they are beginning to hire again with the desire for new employees to be in office.
Seems unlikely, too many remote workers across different time zones.
Too late. Buckle up.
