I wonder what they will do when they start hitting hard limits in terms of how many people are needed to do the work?

And we certainly are not getting rewarded for this better productivity. My base pay has not changed in 5 years and my RSUs go down every year.

I reiterate the comments made by @nv+1jj3d6s8f. I am one of the grey-haired engineers in downstream that was eliminated last summer. Guess what? I do consulting for Freddie’s competitors {CNRL and Cenovus) at multiples of my base pay at Suncor. And it is 100% work-from-home. Yeah, other than the loss of my RSUs it really is a win-win. The win for me is obvious. The win for him is a little less tangible if something does happen.

Absolutely, it’s almost as if it was all Rich Kruger who achieved this. He takes ALL the credit, and gets all the perks from the record production and stock price going up, and all that extra money Suncor buys back he gets the benefits in his stock options. He basically goes to show look I laid all these people off and whipped Suncor into shape. It was all Freddy.

Little does he know about all the cracks he caused all over that are adding up at the worker level. It’s not good to cut people right down to the hard limit, it’s risky, and it makes for stressful work conditions for employees.

I do strongly believe they already hit hard limits on the number of people they can cut for work to be safely and comfortably done. They went beyond the hard limit (of course Freddy will brag about it) because I repeatedly see open positions posted on site where people were once in the position and had been laid off. The work didn’t go away like he proclaimed it would if the people are laid off. Just the knowledge and know how are gone.
