What exactly is the role of these unusual groups of people called HR partners? I fail to see any value in their role. They neither interact with managers nor associates, and they don't communicate effectively with the teams. The HR organization is in serious need of transformation.

They cover their a-s and most of them entertain the stupid politics of this company
Huge conflict of interest they support the leadership for assigned group and work hard to get on their good side for review purposes but fail to do the right thing
You all must have bad ones or not be in leadership roles to understand what they do because our HRBP is fantastic.
HRBPs are worthless. They pass off their work to admins, managers, and other HR teams. They've never had real positions that produced revenue/products for a corporation or serviced customers. They've doubled in size over the last decade and produce nothing. That's where layoffs should be targeted. You'd see no change in how we operate if you cut 70% of them. They are a true redundant, inefficient group of undiverse dolts.
The entire purpose of HR is to protect the company
