Has anyone heard of any furloughs across the system especially in mechanical? I know I heard February 2025 could be furloughs but was just wondering if anyone heard anything. Just started bout 9 months ago and was wondering if I should start applying some where else since I’m at a smaller yard. Any feedback is greatly appreciated thanks

I wouldn't do a thing until something happens. The only reason I say that is there are a lot of jobs out there. I've been on over 20 years and in light of the most recent changes (the last 5 years) id say it is a safe bet layoffs will happen, where, that could be anyone's guess. Mechanical forces are pretty much at the lowest they've been and come May with the 100 days service, some will exit so they'll get a vacation pay next year.
