Thread regarding Albertsons layoffs

I am so happy I was part of the layoff!

The culture at Albertsons is terrible. Leadership was completely missing during the merger years. Middle management and directors became abusive and toxic. Micromanagement, lack of vision, deceipt, racism, s-xism... you name it. All of this was covered up through a veneer of DEI bullsh-t. I was miserable for more than a year. Being laid off with severance was the best thing that could have happened to me.

Good riddance. May karma find you swiftly and may our paths never cross again.

Success in digital is brought by tech. You can’t fly a paper airplane. Builders are who has brought all the results.

I've never worked in a more toxic, abusive place.

Throwing words like mental model, flash reports, writing white papers does not make the company an Amazon. Engineers and engineering that builds the products is what needs to be rewarded; not the big talk and vocabulary of Amazon. Collaboration and humility always wins. Tech leadership should understand and invest in people who deliver and not the ones who create jazzy ppt’s for senior leadership and adept at managing upwards.

So sad that those great people were released instead of those that are pretending to work. They pretend they are working on something but really not doing anything. So sad those people are the one that was retained.

I know there were complaints about discrimination to HR that ended in no action. Very wrong. Very sad.

Albertsons used to be a great place to work. They took good care of their people. Now, they’ve done a 180. People are expendable, loyalty is gone, and they treat people like cr-p. I worked for them for 44 years so I’ve been through a lot. DEI has been a disaster and I see they are going to continue to embrace that cr-p program when it’s nothing but a failure and slap in the face to a lot of long term employees who don’t check the correct boxes. Next up in my experience will be they will start selling off stores or divisions calling it a strategic initiative. A lot of corporate people were set to get rich off the merger and now it’s not happening. They’ve already started cutting back at store level. I was laid off this week. The employees always get sc--wed in these merger deals and this one was no exception even though it didn’t go through. Until they get rid of DEI, they will continue to fail. I used to be a proud associate, not so much anymore.
