Heard rumors of store closings this year.
Does anyone know if this is true or just a rumor?

Corporate isn’t allowed in stores during inventory. It’s an unneeded distraction.
Corporate is distancing themselves from most stores, you don’t see or hear from them very often. Inventory time last week and corporate was no where to be found, that was a red flag.
It’s definitely not a rumor, yet Belk corporate with remain quiet until the very end,
Belk has lots of stores in dead and dying malls and shopping centers, some malls where the only store left is a belk, so it’s not surprising if those locations close. Lots of the stores in those dead malls are literally falling apart.
What store in Georgia?
everyone is quitting at my store almost every week. and the new people they hired in october for christmas all quit before christmas. inventory was a dumpster fire and we didnt have many people who could work those excessive overnight hours. it's bad.
Yes basically almost everything is true and yes they will keep it under wraps as long as possible. I hate to say it but I wish they would close my store. It is horrible. Yesterday we had 2 registers open and 90% of the customers left unhappy. The store is filthy and the hr lead walks around with a scowl on her face. The store manager is so exhausted that you can't even ask a question without being snapped at. Not to mention customers leaving bad surveys that had nothing to do with you.
so, basically, eveything on this layoff.com page is true, even though corporate shills claim Belk is doing great, and nobody on here knows what their talking about.

It is possible but they will keep that info under wraps for as long as possible. The phrase “the first sound they hear is their head hitting the floor” comes to mind.
