Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

Layoffs say nothing about your worth

I'm sorry, guys. They're breaking us down. It's heartbreaking how they're making you feel worthless despite all the skills, experience, and years of dedication you've put in. Don't ever lose sight of who we're really working for—it's never about us, it's always about their greed. The better you are at your job, the more likely you are to be the first one out the door.

I know of a few very good Network Engineer III that got hit this time they will be missed.
I could always count on that guy to get records straight when doing complex circuit repairs that we had to throw. JC hope you make it back after the merger or something even better than this place.

I gave it my all and I kept Believing. I’ve never been let go ,respected everyone I worked with. This hurt hard. Feels like I lost part of my family. The ones that knew me knew I had a drive for the company’s success I didn’t realize UNTILL Tuesday they didn’t care about me I was just # on a “out the door dart board” sorry to everyone and everyone’s family this affected. BELIEVE in yourself!!!

You never want to think it will happen to you. It's okay to feel what you feel, be it sad, shocked, or so pi---d you fantasize about sending gifts to Smallsville from bitchbouquets.com.

You will grieve. You will question your life decisions. You will question their decisions.

Then, one day, after the grief, humiliation, anger and sadness has rolled around a bit, you will realize that your layoff does not define you and it never did. Go out and kick some a-s and pursue that passion you've always been holding off on.

That is absolutely true!!! After 34-years I was layoff months ago. It took a while to find a job however I can say even though my salary is a lot less, my stress level has been reduced to almost nothing. The grass is greener outside of Windstream!!!! Hang in there if you lost your job!!!

Think about how many times the Gundermans have failed and yet they stay employed - so yep I agree that being let go from Windstream has nothing to do with ability but rather shows hard well you lick behinds.
