I come back from the holidays and find out my HRBP was "laid off". I start asking around and it sounds like a lot of people are getting let go even whole departments. Do we have any US base HR left or is it all in the Philippines now?

@yb+1jhpfzhx7 true dat! AVP with years of complaints against them still gainfully employed because of their gender and non-America birth location. Holds a totally fake job that we all have to pretend this person adds value. It's a total sham, especially since their boss is such a penny pincher, but doesn't mind throwing money away, year after year. As long as the stats look good from the outside.

MetLife wants to have the numbers look good, in terms of percent female, percent this race, percent that race.
But, they still need to put the best people in the truly important positions. [DEI or not, there's a company to be run and stock holders to satisfy.]
Ergo, they put the DEI folks in jobs where they are least likely to do damage. Like HR. "Marketing". Etc.

@qs+1jhp when will Monica terminate SVPs and VPs? Culling Directors isn’t helping with lack of respect for Monica. It’s gone from “she’s low paid” to “she can’t lead remotely” to “she can’t spell” to “she’s bad at public speaking” to “she only worked for Hartford”
@sb+1jhp what family is she from/did she marry into? Is she a political hire who always takes off work on election days?
There's one female HRBP in NJ who tries to act all cutesy on Viva Engage, but does no real work, except for being present during the termination meetings. I'd like to see the results from her 2024 OKRs.
What is happening in Legal? Why is Monica lying in her bio about her work history? What else about her career has been fabricated?
What does HR do at Met? Our department has no HR until layoffs, and then it’s contractors in India.
Met moving HR and Legal units to India and Malaysia.
I checked, and my HRBP in the US is still gainfully employed at MetLife. So I would say MIA Shawl is not necessarily cleaning house.
What whole departments are gone? Any scoop there?
Typical with a new leader. CHRO is cleaning up.
No need to have US HRBP's if there won't be any US hiring.
Hopefully they were an AVP. Mine is totally useless and should go.
