Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

I'm numb

This has dragged on for so long that Idgaf anymore about what's coming. Getting laid off? Cool, I’ll deal. Staying? That's fine. I’ve been so stressed about it that I’ve done a full 180 and ended up not feeling anything. Not sure if that’s better, but it’s where I’m at.

Chevron throwsToo much money away and not take control of their issues because they let diversity take over ! Get productive employees and not keep people because of color or s-xuality! Hire people for their work ethics and capabilities and education! Their biggest problem is letting people continue to work from home after covid! They are loosing $$ because most of the people aren’t working and being productive as much as they would be at the company. There were times that Chevron employees would work from home and the contractors would be at The work place doing the work. Chevron also has people on the payroll that has been out for injury or illness for years and they are still getting a paycheck. Most of them are well capable of being at work. Why hasn’t this been turned over to long term disability?

OP, I understand your plight with the stress. Don't drink too much to stay calm. I'm trying to do this myself.

the waiting keeps it interesting and the paychecks coming, I guess some of you want to be given notice on Friday (bet you'd be complaining about that too)

I worked for Chevron for 33 years, had a good career made it to psg 27. In 2016 cvx reorganization I accepted a job in Angola. 13 months passed with no word when I would move. The management just ignored I existed. Repeated requests for information were ignored. I finally resigned and walked out the door. Did not even get a lunch or thank you your service. The company lost good employee. The management does not care about you only themselves! Bottom line take care of yourself, do your job and nothing more for Chevron.

in 2020 I worked with a women who wouldn't shut up with all her complaining about her job, co-workers, our supervisor, our manager, our VP, her husband, and that she had been turned down for promotion several times. Non stop despite several requests for her to stop. She also proclaimed herself a SME, argued about most everything, wanted to make massive changes to the way we were told to do our jobs, and then cried until she got to go fly home early. Numb doesn't begin to describe it. After all that she was retained because she fit the DEI mandate.

I’m ready for this layoff to hit already. I can’t wait for some of these people to skidaddle.

You are describing my same state of mind, and most likely many other hundreds of poor souls.
I am so disconnected from everything at this point.
