Most of the layoffs occurred with high salaries geographies and positions like in the USA.

Bang for the buck layoffs. Mark would need to layoff 6 in Bangalore to cut the same wage amount of one developer in California.

The promised cost savings of $400 million when OT acquired Micro Focus are not being realized so they must cut jobs. Do the math, Cut 1,000 $100,000 salaries and that saves $100 million per year.

Public announcement from last year was yes we cut 1,000 jobs but we will hire more people in INDIA and a few in Canada.

OT is the coldest company I every worked for.

They tend to have rotating top leadership so not sure how stable the team is overall.

No IT jobs are ever stable these days. Always constant changes. Layoffs are frequent at OT.
There are some OT jobs where there's longevity but not many or easy. Don't expect much pay rise or promotions unless you are in the low cost countries.

Tough market, so maybe you have no other options, but if you do, find out about cost of living increases or raises you'd likely get in other companies. With OT, as the highlander would say 'there can be only one'. That is one person per team, may be designated as a superstar, regardless of how many there actually are. That will affect whether or not you are considered worthy of any type of increase in salary.

Layoffs have been happening across the board at least twice a year, so buckle in.
