Oh lol … I looked it up too and that’s rich, I expect it to see it in a rap video one day.

Nothing will ever beat the name-branding fiasco that was the JV between GAZPROM and Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation. This board won't even allow the company name to be posted without being censored.

It’s ironic the new location is called “the Engine”. For anyone that is over 55 and remember John Wayne Western movies, an “injun” pronunciation Engine is an Indian. I don’t think the branding for this new “culture reset” was thought through very well.

What's there to discuss? lol
It's a new organization and they have to fill roles that they are centralizing.
The company is downsizing - why would you expect jobs in Houston?
Need a lesson in reading comprehension with the messages the company has sent to Wall Street and employees?

The ENGINE jobs are remaining open, not because they have that many available, but due to either not being able to find talented people or they are rejecting the salary offer. As previous posts have mentioned CVX is new in this region and we aren't trusted to be a good company to work for. This will go on for quite a while I'm sure until we just hire "good enough" people. Then expect about a year of attrition as they move off and we repeat the cycle and have the lingering resources in the US training them over and over.

It will create headaches and triple the work for folks that survive US layoffs. Not worth sticking around for…

been that way for awhile and will just keep going in that direction. the replacements and newly filled positions are coming from offshore. being told ok to bring offshore resources but requires approval for onshore resources.
