I’m no longer going above and beyond. No more working 9/80’s, vacation days, sick days, before hours or after hours.

All of my extra energy that I used to spend working late or on Fridays is now spent networking and looking at job postings.
I am sure they are not working 9/80s because they want too! They work it because they are forced to work it! Chevron doesn’t not care about the family environment and they won’t hire enough people to cover the shifts when someone takes off or calls in.
It’s the most negative that I have seen in my 20 years here. In the past the reorgs happened every 5 years or so and if you survived, there was not a lot to worry about until the next one. This time, it feels like it could drag on through 2026 with the ENGINE BS in play.
Why would you ever work on those days? Get your stuff done during regular working hours and go enjoy your time off!
I cannot bring myself to give a sh** about any project I’m working on currently. With everything going on around us. Psychologically safety is gone and so is this “company”.
do it. been burned out since last year, quit quitted like a MF and still got EEs lmao. join the club
Many of us checked out months ago. Things are bleak here. Sad
I’ve been here 22 years and never worked on 9/80s, vacation, sick days etc…. Why the he-l would anyone do that in the 1st place?
Always make sure to take of yourself first. Use the vacation days
What’s the point of doing more than the bare minimum? Hard work has nothing to do with meeting the fanciful goals set by the board.
Have a feeling many are still very much gung-ho and working hard thinking it will change their outcome. Fates have already decided who stays and who goes, enjoy the just enough until you hear otherwise.
Congratulations
I hear you man.. most people around me are doing same.. just keeping lights up. I see people who are enthusiastic about work.. always want to do better and better are all demoralized.. not doing as much .. everything seems negative currently
