Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

21 K Hiring in 2021 from different places and laying of senior Intel people

I know at least 100 people from the same company has been employed in same Org over the last year. Now they are planning to replace the experienced people with new ones with a hope that these new people will bring vision and deliver.
What exactly we have not delivered in the last 20 years? We took decisions, worked on call, we sustained processes, we talked to vendors, qualified tools and processes.

Honestly did not get this. Why so many hiring in last year alone? The upper management has been a sham over the last decade. The company is filling up with thousands of inept project managers , relatives of managers, spouses of team leads and so on.

Intel leadership says they need new thinking. My simple question is does Intel really allow anything new in any of your process/tool/system? Intel promotes only mediocrity with hundreds of inefficient and half literate managers at every level. So the whole standoff is just a face saving exercise to protect their most inefficient gang in most cases.

Or we have departments who are overstaffed for the demand we have for our products. We ar in the beginings of a resession that began in the summer.....so Trimming of fat right now would be smart.

Intel has to decide if it wants to be a foundry or fabless. When it lost technology edge to Tsmc, products fell behind on performance. IFS has to be spun off and needs to be run by a former Tsmc exec. Product groups will be free to choose best technology and fab and become successful. Intel’s failure is it’s inability to course correct over the last at least 5 years.
