Just found: https://managerscores.com/ seems like we should be letting those leaders know how they really performed
I too am confused by Vivek's email. The wording can imply it's over for now.
CEO comments “company is strong financially”.. after you let hundreds of people go and outsourced everything to SE Asia, maybe for a year you might be fine. This is a poignant example of “your actions not mirroring your words”… Stating the company is financially strong , but most of the workforce is laid off, simply doesn’t add up. The level of lies and gaslighting from the executive leadership is comical. To lay off the amount of people they have, it directly reflects on the heights of incompetency of the executive team. They will lie straight to your face. They will lie in meetings. They will lie when asked pointed questions. If the executive leadership could earn a dollar for every lie they’ve told, then everyone would believe Albertsons companies is not struggling financially. When you see layoffs at other companies, usually the message is “we are struggling and this is unfortunate” not “ we are financially strong”. No one believes this, especially not the markets and stakeholders. This is the messaging you peddle when you are desperate (layoffs, merger attempts, and suing Kroger) for capital, and desperate to stay relevant. Good luck to all this has affected.
Don’t think it is performance related. Much of the teams were outsourced and therefore roles eliminated
The folks who are being let go are not necessarily Americans, its performance driven as far as we have learned and includes Indians too. Some of the talented Product folks and IT folks are also let go. So far its only been FTEs not contractors. Its a dagger in the back from the leadership after saying company is doing good financially. So sorry for everyone affected.
So since the company is suing Kroger, do the employees they are letting go get a chunk if they win? Since it impacts them?
Does the recent mail mean, it is over for this week and there maybe more in future?
Vivek sent out an email about it. Does it mean it’s over?
Executed very poorly. Folks whose managers were impacted have been left in limbo with no communication on what’s happening to their team
Based on employment termination letter I received, it says Lay off is planned for 01/13 and 01/14 for pleasanton offices.
No word on any layoffs today for central processing Pharmacy.
About the 11 am PST cut off that someone mentioned below, does it mean that there's no more lay offs tomorrow? Do we need to worry until the week is over?
It’s extremely disheartening the way this went about. Managers were notified via 1 on 1s. Everyone else, including seniors, were told in large groups which was extremely impersonal. I had a feeling something was up when they started outsourcing roles mid merger mid last year. Now we can confirm it was their contingency plan in case the merger didn’t go through. My heart is with everyone who was affected.
I'm frustrated with the level of secrecy. Just be transparent, let everyone vent and them we can all move on. It's bad enough that most of us were lied to, being told our jobs were safe. The damage is done, stop making it worse by being so shady and quite about it. It happened, let's talk about and move on.
It's hard for me to just stop caring about what happens to our customers. I want my questions answered about who is staying and what it's going to look like for the customers so I can stop thinking about it and worry about myself and my family. I can't turn off my nature that quickly.
The lay off is across the board . There are many south Asian impacted . Criteria is non performing vertical financially . They need to find another buyer with green balance sheet .
Several people were fired from my org and the only of us remaining are Indian. It is not a good feeling for me.
hearing, 11am PST was cutoff today for remaining layoffs.
did anyone get hit today or is this all still just reporting from yesterday?
Entire Austin, TX district team was laid off. OPs and DM. Merging the district with Houston.
At least 300 people, but heard up to 600. Entire property manager team. Customer service, IT, talent, brand marketing, e commerce, aviation, procurement… to name a few.
My entire team, including all product managers for Customer Service, was impacted by the layoffs. They scheduleda teams meeting at 8am, our audio and video were disabled, and we were informed of the decision. The termination was effective immediately and included team members at various levels, including the GVP. About 200 folks in deer Valley.
Does anyone have any idea of size and scale of layoffs? Is it business ops / product or engineering focused? Any major teams impacted?
I
Replenishment has been impacted. Demand planning impacted.
Many corporate jobs in Phoenix are being outsourced to Manila
It's incredibly disheartening to see the devastating wildfires in SoCal followed by these destructive corporate fires/layoffs in Bay Area, Phoenix and Plano. What a terrible way to begin the year. Praying for everyone affected including me :(
Does anyone have insights if the layoffs are already done or should we expecting more within the week?
I also used to wonder about non-Indians getting more impacted; even in last (it was smaller) layoff our non-Indian colleagues got more impacted, and thats already a smaller group. I doubt its deliberate though.
The last few years I’ve listened to the INSANITY that is this company through a close friend- non Indian. It is full of nepotism, negligence and incompetence from the top down. If you got laid off today you are lucky. He was doing the work that 2 people used to do and now they will be adding his work to someone else- and they will scape goat you if you try to speak up about any of the dysyfuntion. The stories I’ve heard remind me of living in an alcoholic family system. those who got laid off you are the lucky ones - walk away and never look back.
FTE's are all I can deduce are being cut. Contractors are the VAST MAJORITY in IT with some in management positions. The company is predominantly South Asian, so non south Asian are minorities. DEI, what a joke. If i was not south Asian, i would challenge them to their diversity and why I am being cut over contractors. Culture is horrendous with no organization. Just spent around $20 Million on converting to Google Cloud 3 years after an expensive migration to Snowflake. Get rid of managers and let the real managers run the show
I heard lots of non-Indians are laid off.. Is this because the company is being Indianize like other companies? This is sad. It seems that diversity is for them only. I'm not not an Indian hater but that's what I just observed.
As per my knowledge. They are sharing information 1-1 and that too not by immediate managers. So it may take more time to notify for every one who were impacted.
Any contractors affected?
Did they inform all of the impacted employees already? Can I say I am safe if no one contacted me yet?
So many talented Product Managers have been let go. Such a shame.
Yes, I was one of the layoffs. I can't believe the talent they are letting go.
For IT team. It's through Teams meeting. Don't surprise if you get a teams meeting from an higher management which you never interacted. It's confirmed!
How did you all find out about getting laid off? Phone call, email, group meeting, etc?
Assume all get severance packages since there was no WARN notice?
