Thread regarding CDW layoffs

All coworkers launch communication

Can someone translate what Leahy was talking about today? 😳 Prerecorded, no tactical details as to what her "changes" are, nothing. CEO of the year, from the ability to not-connect to the ability to not have a vision. Unimpressed is an understatement.

Coming from a company that was acquired by CDW I’ve always felt that the jargon and corporate fluff in every employee wide event is so overdone. Speaks to nothing, a flat message of prosperity, it’s like ChatGPT is crafting a message using lines from the movie office space or something

To the poster below, if you’re not going to make your bonus over one hour, you have bigger problems. Good luck.

Nothing worse than listening to Bob K ramble on for an hour on a mandatory call while we have billing goals during the DVS breakout. Seem like he literally had no idea what he was talking about and now I probably miss my bonus. Who are these people? Where our old leaders at?

I was embarrassed for her. Being a female, I was hoping she would succeed but sadly her end time is near. She let go of our colleagues because the company financials and growth not being in line and I am sure the Board and Shareholders will hold her accountable as well.

Hahaha- Another fake downvote alert on Post ID @qy+1jhg7ds22 . Oh my gosh. So funny. Based on the reaction timing it looks like someone mentioned in the post must have been downvoting!

Sanjay is smart and a good person. Anand is a disaster and toxic too. The whole team hates working for him. He should resign. Give Liz a chance, at least it seems she is willing to make a decision and take a risk. Also, when a CEO has a short non-descript message when a company is at risk, it almost always means leadership changes are in the works. Where and how is the question.

Some of my customers are asking about what is written on this site and I wasn't sure how to answer them. Tell them the truth and let them know that all of the posts in all of the sections are true? Or lie and tell them I don't know anything so we don't loose customers? Two customers asked me why it takes a public site to express our problems and if there isn't a group where these issues can be taken to resolve because in their eyes, these are an indication that group is failing? It's true because many of us know that things aren't addressed when escalated to the call line. They ask if these problems are affecting performance and if good talent is leaving. I told them let me think about all of it and that I would get back with them. I did and decided the truth is always the best policy. I think we may lose one of them but the others appreciated me for being honest and getting back with them. Others have asked since then and I just answer honestly. I feel terrible as a coworker for being upfront but better as a human being. I hate that we are all in this position and hope that things improve this year. So far, it seems like more of the same. The board has to tell themselves, if the financial and internal results are bad and they can't change the people, then they have to CHANGE the people.

When your leader, Bob, spends all day in spreadsheets looking solely at profit numbers and ways to squeeze sales reps commissions out of them, is when you know this company is ran by a bunch of circus clowns

Good point on never using political banter on these posts. I hope all coworkers pay attention to your post. I read both the posts and the one about Newsom is clearly political while the other one seems to be an example of walking away for the right reasons but I they should not have used Biden as an example. I do agree with all of the names recommended to be changed, especially Liz, the sales execs, Strategy and the Legal GC. I think the call was suppose to be the regular announcement prior to the results to rally the troops. It did not get it done. It just proved what we all assumed. But I am glad we have this site where we can come together and share experiences because it is always healthy to have an outlet since we all know the integrity line won't listen or care. I noticed the stock is slowly climbing. It may be a good sign that our numbers are positive this quarter.

I have seen Sanjay in action, met him, and been on calls with him. I also know what our IT department was like before him. He is one of the best people we have brought in from the outside. We have two others Sona has brought in that are terrible and are hated by their teams. If we really want to see productive changes we should be focused there.

You could cut 80% of middle management at any company and not see a bg impact.

Not sure I agree with your names. At least remove Sanjay (there are at least 2 others on the EC you are missing that are ki-ling us). I hope everybody remembers what our systems were like before Sanjay. He is part of the solution, not part of the problem.
Now Strategy and Marketing are a different story and have their own set of issues hurting CDW.

Dear Board of Directors. Please step in and make the required changes at the top and based on this call, results and what I hear in the office, customers, and on this board, include Liz, Sanjay, Sona, Al, and definitely Rick and Aletha as well. Completely out of touch and the results in their departments show they make poor decisions. Accountability is critical in a Global company.

Customers, I know you have been reading these. We want to succeed for you but many of us are looking to leave. Our leaders are dismal and we apologize for the results. Those that are shareholders should also push for change. United front!

The comment around dress attire was stated for a professional look in front of 8K plus attendees. I would have expected more from a CEO presenting about a 2025 road map.

I'm not concerned with what she was wearing. However, I did not hear anything specifics on what we are actually doing. What was the point of the call? What were the take-aways? Also, who is telling her that using fancier words that mean nothing will be help relate a message or relate to her audience ?

Could of and should of been an email. I was hoping she was announcing her retirement. Then followed up by her old Pal reading at us with more misses. Executive leadership is so disconnected from us and this is just more evidence of that. Extremely disappointing.

Seriously?? Appropriate attire - wth is that about? I don't care what she's wearing but would like details not jargon speak

I am not sure what we just listened to, other than a confirmation the company is in decline.

Things missing:
Appropriate attire for a CEO
WHAT are you going to do to make 2025 amazing vs using buzz words?
Stop blaming the external factors (common theme of blame)
New ATAE pay plan was announced as a way to retain talent, instead it’s doing the opposite.

Frustrating when Executive use a lot of words and feel they are communicating something to their audience and they completely miss what was supposed to be communicated. I get that they spend weeks (maybe months) working on something behind the scenes, but when they get to announcing whatever it is, they forget it is 100% brand new to the audience and forgot to walk through what exactly is changing.

I am usually a very positive person, but I have to agree that I did not follow the substance of her message. I am all for a "rah rah" speech. But there were no visuals and I am not clear what actually got announced. I heard something about a Transformation office... but I thought we already launched that, like 2-3 times in the past few years.
