Thread regarding CDW layoffs

Getting Better?

It is now a new year. Did it feel like things were turning around near the end of the year? Did you guys feel like things were getting better, worse or the same as the year ended?

If we have to use up all our PTO by the end of March, how would that impact costs for CDW if layoffs happen in April like they have the last couple of years. Sounds like the layoffs would be beneficial for the company and further hurt those employees impacted by the layoffs.

Anyone else feel similarly?

Hoping our Q4 numbers were good. Fingers crossed!

Wish we had goals but I guess that happens every year at the start of the year.

Negative....at least in ITS, we are losing tenured, as well as up and coming talent everyday and it's not going to stop. The new roles they have thrown on the group are not going over well internally like they like to present to other departments and partners. Coworkers are exhausted with it all and sick of leadership not listening to the constructive feedback from the frontlines. The newly installed micromanaging that seems to be the MO around here lately is also driving people out. So from my perspective, no, it's not better and it doesn't look like it's going to change anytime soon.

Yes, come 2nd quarter you take off when you need time off. You don't have a bank of hours but you don't have a limit either. It is flex time off which many people asked for us to adopt for years. However, you nailed the downside... when you leave CDW (your choice or theirs) you don't have any balance you are paid out on.

What is the new PTO policy? Existing used up by the end of March and then "unlimited" but that's discretionary based on manager approval to basically cover everything when you're out, then no "bank" when if you leave ether due to a Reduction in Workforce or other reasons? The communications on it were not extensive.

End of year felt less 'bad' but not because processes improved, leadership communicated, strategy was invoked. Or business grew. It felt less bad probably because half the company was burning PTO for the new PTO model and everyone just got a much needed break.

Stock price seems dismal. Sales were horrid. I assume more layoffs in Q1. The business sure doesn't seem to be healthier or growing.

The actions taken by everyone most definitely ameliorated the overall status of the situation. Please continue along this course!!

Sadly it got worse. No issues were resolved and now we cannot even pay our sales people correctly on what they sell and gave them higher goals. That will make for a happy efficient workforce.

It felt like things got slightly better as we headed towards the end of the year. I wonder how our numbers finished.
