Has anyone tried any of the paid services that help with resumes? Did it make a difference? I’m getting a bit discouraged after not getting any callbacks, so I’m thinking I might need some professional help. But I don’t want to waste my money if it’s not actually useful.

the job market right now is ugly
i don't see it getting any better
but it is bad all over
Germany is contracting, France has a worse credit rating than Greece
this is going to end very badly, there is too much debt
It really depends the roles you’re trying for. Directors? Probably not gonna get an interview. Entry level? Might be your resume/qualifications. If you’re external to Nike, you really might be at a bigger disadvantage. In my opinion.
Yes and they also updated my LinkedIn profile, coverlettet and I met with an interview coach. They also send out my resume to a lot of HR companies and recruiters. Now with that all said, you get out of it what you put into it. My resume went from a doer to an achiever resume and my LinkedIn page received a lot more hits. Do your research on resume companies as they are not all equal and buy what you can afford. I recommend it.
It’s not the company, it’s the job market. Have you talked to anyone who’s been laid off?
Read the layoff forum on Reddit. So many people ghosted, thousands of applications, searching over a year. It’s not you or your resume.
You can try resume-now.com -- it's free , but you do have to register.
I haven’t heard a peep from any of my applications at Nike since the layoff - maybe we are listed as “do not rehire”
I’d recommend just putting it in chat gpt to see what the AI bot can do. I’m sure you’ve probably already tried it but it doesn’t hurt.
I also sound what the person before me said, right now, you have people probably all applying right now after the holidays are over. Plus with people (internally) already being already aligned for roles, it makes it harder. I know a lot of companies have been doing this again, not just Nike.
Keep diligent and don’t get too depressed. I know a neighbor of mine was looking for a year but ended up in a really good job and they’re happy. Sometimes it can take time!
The problem may or may not be your resume. People not getting callbacks is pretty common throughout the company right now. It's really unfortunate. A job you think you might be well-qualified for has someone already in line for it, it seems. Employees have been told for years HR doesn't do pre-selected candidates or preferential, but seems that's typically the case when you aren't getting callbacks or through the recruiter filters even.
With that said, any work on your resume you do can only deem productive, even if for outside Nike. Always try to tailor your resume to the job you're applying for and include those keywords and/or what they are looking for from the posting. Probably goes without saying.
