Dell pays badly and is a company of Yes men. Never met a genuinely impressive exec or manager during my time there, they were all bullsh-tters and Yes men
Getting laid off from Dell is a blessing, especially if you have long service. Doubled my salary within a few months of layoff. Best decision to get WFR. Dell is a talent graveyard
I cannot speak for all of Dell, I just know it is true in my case. 2 years ago when I was in a different org and I applied for other large name orgs, most where 40k less easy.
"I would have to take a serious pay cut to go anywhere else"
you are an unserious person if you think dell is top dollar in the industry.
Must not be the same everywhere at Dell. I am in services and I love my team and the job. I am paid well as I9 engineer, and the team is working on maturing our service.
I am very good at what I do and I am still at Dell for the season above.
Sure there is still the stress of layoffs, and the team needs more resources, and there is always some dead weight on the team.
However, expectation is that later in the year, after meeting HC targets, business with earning potential can grow the team.
I would have to take a serious pay cut to go anywhere else and probably a terrible commute into metro area.
being xx years at Dell is far worse a stain on ones CV
Says the guy sitting at home with no job
EMC had their share of D-bags also.
EMC was a great company. Dell could be great but is run by leaders with se!fish agendas and by cons.
LoL. No. Dell is the bottom bin of tech companies by any metric
Your next job erases a layoff.

Tell me you haven't worked anywhere good without telling me you haven't worked anywhere good.
