Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

So we will definitely know nothing before Feb TH?

It would be good to find out where we all stand asap.

Why does everyone want to find out so quickly? The more time the better. Use the time and energy to network, polish up the CV, look for opportunities - something we should ALWAYS be doing.

Yup agreed, comms for layoffs prolly not their priority number 1/2/3 or 4. They prolly still need to figure wtf to say at the quarterly earnings call.. bonus amounts for us peasants.. who gets access to executive elevator..

The when will we know is just as annoying as the why can’t we keep wfh indefinitely. Mgmt is exhausted by that one and will be with the new one too. You’ll know when you know. SETH is not going to be when they give you lots of details. That’s not what it is for. It’s coming just prepare as you are able.

I'm hearing that ENGINE is at least six months behind schedule. Indian engineers aren't impressed with Chevron or the offers they are given. Also, Chevron itself never really had a presence in India before so many people there don't even know what Chevron does. I don't see how the layoffs that MW wants so bad are to proceed when potential replacements aren't even available.

Anything could happen, never say never. BUT these incessant "WhEn WiLl wE kNoW!?" Posts are really silly and unproductive. If you're genuinely curious, look through previous posts for what hints you can glean, piece together your own educated opinions, and calm down and sit tight until actual information surfaces. If it helps you feel more in control, spend time over the next few weeks updating your Talent Card, look through past PDC postings for the types of roles you might want to post for, and maybe, just maybe, start flexing your external networking skills.
