Carelon is such a mess there is no way to fix the patches anymore. No amount of meetings, building yet another vendor platform, culture surveys are going to fix the immense amount of business lines that are failing or drowning at this point. Not a company to retire from anymore. The meaningless middle exec’s including Staff VP’s have failed time over time yet still hold their jobs..it is unbelievable. You can start new initiatives when the current are not even up and running!!!! It is ludicrous to believe that we can push forward when our tech is so dated it takes 10x the effort to find information because pieces of information are in 4 different system. Payment Integrity/Clinical Audit are a disaster!

AIP % depends on the area you work in, it’s not the same across the whole company. Last year, it was fully funded for my area, 105 or 110% with high performers getting up to 150% of their goal.
Any word on what percentage bonus will be funded at? Last year was about 75%.
Speaking of the waste of time/money/productivity badge swiping at buildings where we work with nobody else there, has anyone been put on a formal PIP and/or fired over not doing the stupid badge swiping? Anyone still being threatened to be fired besides our area?
I hear and feel all of this thread. Elevance is a sinking ship. I work in Carelon too but have colleague friends all over Elevance and this thread is felt throughout the company. Us workers with a servant heart who want to make change and support our members are in exact opposition of the Executive team. As they await their million dollar bonuses to buy another vacation home we sit here praying for pennies..it’s unconscionable. I’m tired of it. I’m interviewing to go back and defend our customers on the provider side.
This thread is spot on. It’s nice to see that there is shared concerned about working for this company overall and in particular Carelon. 2025 is a year of change for me. Working in CCA in Carelon is awful there is either too much work or nothing and 6 systems to find the information needed when there is work. It’s a horrible workplace. The hybrid cr-p is ridiculous..nobody even works in my division at my location. Don’t get me started on the Staff VP’s. My director already warned us the merit/bonus will be slim pickings. Starting to interview this week.
Let’s be honest here @rd, sometimes claims are accurately paid. The rest of what you said is 100% spot on.
It’s amazing anyone gets movement forward in Carelon. Way too many platforms that are from prehistoric times. Claims are never accurately paid, appeals are lost in a dark hole, reporting is awful, projects are never finished, new platforms are never completed but yet millions of dollars are spent to vendors, ethics are a very grey area, dragged into meetings that are reoccurring twice a week with no actual work or processes being completed, VP of Staff who are completely clueless to the products in their division. It’s complete chaos. Ready for a new adventure.

I agree I don’t understand what the VP of Staffs are for? You have Directors then the exec level why the middle men? So much wasted money. Nothing works and there is NEVER any push forward after endless meetings trying to fix the same constant problems. I have never worked for such a dysfunctional company. I didn’t want to look for a new job this soon but this is like being in a relationship with a narcissist.

I noticed they just keep starting new projects and never finish the last one. It's a scam!
I was staying just to get my bonus but it looks to be that is not happening. It’s a sad state of affairs at the executive level..allot of pointing fingers and bitterness during the evaluation process for 2025. The care to want to thrive in a job that makes no difference to the population we serve is soul crushing.

A lot of the workers at Carelonrx that are AE and above have severe emotional disturbances allegedly. It's very difficult working with these types of people. I'm not being rude, but I feel like I work in an insane asylum most days and I'm not paid enough for it. Not a healthy environment. Maybe they'll get bought out by CVS or something.
Carelon is a cesspool. Biggest failures and most dysfunctional business I have ever been apart of. The cost of these vendor platforms that don’t work is mind blowing..then the decision is made to scratch it and build another platform…over and over and NEVER making a forward leap. I will not be working here by spring…my career deserves better than this. Tired of inexperienced Staff VP’s that at best are best glorified team cheerleaders. Every staff VP should be let go.

Get ready to bend over during your yearly evaluation…might be able to get a McDonald’s Happy Meal with your raise. Same leaving Carelon I’m over it. My Christmas was ruined worrying about what’s next…not worth it. They will replace me in a week…bye.

Nailed it…it is an awful soul draining place to work. The Staff VPs try to act so nice but would know nothing without their teams feeding them information…don’t even know the business lines assigned to them. It is a train wreck on a hamster wheel. Can’t wait to leave the Carelon business and Elevance. I would NEVER recommend anyone to work here.

Completely agree…the insanity I think has become a mental sickness. I hate my job and thankful for one at the same time. I know I’m not going to get a bonus or merit worth anything this year….its time to run from this place. It is sickening to watch Gail and her clueless nose sniffers rake in millions of dollars..it’s not right. They don’t care a lick about the average worker or the populations we serve.
