Thread regarding Belk layoffs

Belk interference with commission based beauty associates

—if you work in beauty and are commissioned keep a log of you non productive hours and tasks away from cosmetics that keep you from earning commission—-working in other non commissioned departments, inventory, recovery, being scheduled before store opening for recovery, staying late after store closing for recovery, all of this is considered interfering with pay and is a breach of contract and belk can be legally sued for this. Several beauty associates at my store have contacted a lawyer about this.———

I work in cosmetics and we have one person scheduled out of 2 registers open for most of the day. Let's just say I had a line of miserable customers with returns, clothes, home goods all day.

The only legally binding contract is a written contract signed by all parties.
An “implied” contract is not a contract, and is not legally enforceable, neither is a “verbal” contract.

when you were hired for cosmentics you have entered into what is known as an implied contract with belk, an implied contract is a legally binding agreement that's created when parties shower their agreement through their actions, conduct, or circumstances, rather than through a written or verbal agreement. Implied contracts have the same legal force as express contractsm which are contracts explicitly agreed to in writing or verbally.

10,000,000 into cosmetics but Lancome pulled out due to non payment....so that number seems a bit unrealistic...if cosmetics is doing well ...the store should be cranking out some business too..they are not investing in anything ( well maybe a sign here or there)

Belk supposedly put 10,000,000 into cosmetics, so we could produce and grow our lines, but continuously we are pulled away to other areas. Then we are scolded when we didn’t make our month or the goals set out for us. But whether we are pulled to other areas or not 60% of what we do on our lines is still ring clothes and do returns. So we aren’t able to produce to the extent they expect us to produce. Covid is over time to get cosmetics back to doing cosmetics so we can do our jobs that is expected of us

I am a counter manager in cosmetics and our contract is the same as everyone else’s. We work for Belk, yes we also work for the line we are put on, but Belk is who signs our check and we work for them. Our Account Executives don’t like that we are taken from producing on their line, but it always happens and their is nothing they can do. Their are more in cosmetics so they will always be pulled to other areas. Sad to say.
