Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Would an apology with the acknowlegment of harm be enough to move on?

Many of us on this board were harmed by follett. We were harmed financially, professionally and emotionally.
Here's my question to you; if TL and his band of perpetrators were to sincerely apologize and acknowledge the harm they had done, would that be enough to move on?
I just read a review of a book written by a follett alum who was one of TL's perps. He sings the praise of purpose of bookstores. Get this! Turning a profit isn't one of the virtues. While executing TL's teams' will, he ruthlessly cute and brutalized always citing the need to drive profits. That's sociopath behavior.
Would an apology from this goon or his masters help you move past follett?

No, an apology would not warrant any validity. All I can visualize is that the apology would be from either the swimming pool at the vacation home, or the boat. "Let's get this apology over with and move on with our extravagant lifestyle and let the bottom feeders swim to extinction", they would say.

Isn't follett's core failure one of adaptation and change? They told/sold employees on follett being different. follett prospered with long tenured, dedicated employees. That was the model at corp and in the field. Experience was essential. Time in service was to be rewarded. Security came from loyalty.
They kept on saying that even as the business passed them by. The business changed and follett didn't.
Every business is this way, and it's a job didn't describe follett for many years. The change was swift and brutal.

I have no love for Follett but, I'm sorry, that's how virtually every business in this country operates. It's the result of capitalism run amok. Follett sucks, but they're really no different from any other big business or major retailer. They like to say they are, but we know the truth. The sooner folks realize this, the better.

Let go of the past? It's difficult to go bigger and better when you have no clue of what was smaller and less good. See, that's where accountability comes in. It may not fit some false orthodoxy, but a true accounting is beneficial.
Put another way, would one know Walden was bliss if they never saw the ugly of the society? To know you were not complicit in the melt down will help shape one's skill set to build bigger and better.

Apologies, no. Wouldn't be sincere.
How about paying the employees that ki---d themselves during Covid and had a payout, to return the funds to us, that might help. PPE money? Where did that go?
I Understand why store managers had to continue to work but I don't understand wh they refuse to allow us To at least be compensated with the stimulus money. In order to allow us to receive funds that our employees received that we're sitting at home they would have only had to say our hours were cut. It was more than frustrating to be a store manager and how and have my part time staff staff bringing home more money than I wand I was when I was working more more than normal.
