Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Life is much better outside

It seems that it really is true that if you want to feel valued and paid proportionally to how much effort you put in, the only way to achieve that is to get out of here.

I am happy for others, but on the other hand, I feel bad when I hear how much better off the people who left are now in every sense - both mentally and materially.

Absolutely true Post ID: @4wzb+1jf2xhjC . The grass is not always greener and some folks that left exaggerate the "greatness" of the new employer. Being part of the 3000 person layoff in early 2021 I can tell you I am making roughly the same amount as when I left, which was decent pay. The new company does have a nicer bonus structure, but, I have put plenty of extra hours in for this new job. Every job has good and bad. You are most definitely rolling the dice when you go elsewhere. And, some of us had no choice, but if you do, really do your research.

I know two people who left. One is doing great, making more money and happier and good for him. The other is making slightly more money but with a nightmare boss and mandatory weekends with no end in sight to the overtime and trying to come back. So roll the dice.
