Layoffs in fc last week. A small site so no one seems to be reporting.

Sounds like someone who is ok with being treated like cr@p under poor, incompetent, clueless, buck-passing, secret-keeping, (mostly Indian and East Asian) management.

Every company is going to be laying off during recession. Even if you leave AMD and find another job at another company, even that new job is not going to be secure. Perhaps even more risky of letting you go first since you'll be the new guy. Best thing to do now it everyone in the team has to put more then 40 hours a week and make profit for the company. If your project makes profit, your group will survive. Any project breaking even or losing money will be cut.
