Broken reward system

With all the toxic leaders we have it is obvious to me the reward system is very very broken.

The impact you have on others should be a key factor in pay, promotions, and performance evaluations. Too many times I see how results are achieved ignored and those who manage upwards but no one wants to work for rewarded.

If you are an as----e who constantly burns down the careers of others you are not a success or a leader. You are just an overpaid as----e.

This has always been a huge problem in my experience over the years. I’ve seen managers make the work environment so toxic that they have run off multiple people in every assignment. Instead of these managers suffering any consequences, those that worked with them and didn’t quit or ask to be moved early enough, dropped in rank. I know of a few that were serial se-ual harassers that were never reprimanded , but instead, just moved to oversea assignments.

I personally worked for someone who was horrible. He did nothing when he knew one of his employees was stealing, he laughed when another person somewhat openly & repeated watched po-n at work, and he also demanded his admin work unpaid overtime & lie to his wife while he was cheating on her.

Management knew about all these things and did absolutely nothing for a very long time. This manager moved up and around while the good people under him were subjected to low ranking and damage to their career.

You cannot put a dollar value on the losses a company encounters from just one of these people in a leadership position. There have been many of these people throughout the years and there are some still untouchables like this in the company. Just imagine the cost when you multiply this scenario over the years.

I know a sls that was brought to HR in just about all of her management gigs. She threatened admins with their job if they didn’t do her work. Which by the way was works she volunteered to do for the department heads. She crushed the sites documentation group and is a tyrant always using woke verbiage to get her way. Acts very humble in management meetings but outside, her reports can’t stand her. She has destroyed 3 groups since going into management and she is still there. Employees that were retirement eligible left the group because of her. She is the most unethical person I have ever met. If she has managed to stay there’s no way the company will ever get rid of a toxic manager.
Gulf Coast is running on fumes as a result of her.

Currently there are more people voluntarily resigning than there are people being fired. This is what people are discussing at the moment the drivers for the #exxodus
