Thread regarding Albertsons layoffs

Is anybody else really nervous about the announced merger?

I'm not sure what to think. I'm trying to decide if I should leave right now on my own terms or if I should risk it and wait until things settle down to see how this plays out. I know how mergers work. There are always cuts involved on every level so I doubt this time will be any different.

The market is not 'hot' for workers unless you are talking about the people who work the lowest positions in the store. Corporate is F**ked. So are all the subsidiaries of both companies. If you are a corporate worker over 50 - YOU WILL NOT FIND ANOTHER JOB IN AMERICA. It is what it is. Thanks, Trumpers, you've officially ruined America. Welcome to Russia 2.0

Agree with the previous poster. Unless you are VP or above, you have no RSUs or stocks that benefit you unless you have been a lapdog for someone above.

Kroger pays lower, and there is no way they will want to keep higher-paid Albertson's people around.

Find your golden parachute, as management won't have one for you.

Anuj is getting a $3M retention bonus plus boat load of stocks, and Vivek with a bigger one, with a payday of over $50M!!!

Who do you think they looked out for?? The little guy and the lifer hard worker or the bright people hired in the past couple of years?

Only lapdogs will be kept around until they are not needed....

I would. There are gonna be redundancies in all departments. The job market is hot right now. Pull the ripcord.
