Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

What makes me sad…

The job market was on fire the last few years and (yes I am former DXC left a year ago) from what I can tell everyone talked about raises that you know will never happen and quiet quitting. And now this:

People please be proactive with your careers. Doing less in a job you despise is only going to result in being jobless during a recession with no available jobs to go to. Please consider that. I loved the people at DXC but not the culture.

Indian here. While I can understand your frustrations, your racist rants don't help any hard working conscientious worker; irrespective of where they are from.

It is the other way around which is happening. 90% of "high cost countries" workers are being targetted. I have tried my level best fighting to retain truly good people reporting to me in US and UK. Very little success.

You want to get the company going , get rid of 90% of the India staff and contractors and then work will get done

I have been in this company for nearly 14 years. I haven't had a job description, objectives or goals for the past few years. None of my managers (or their managers) were able to do my job and didn't try to understand what I do or the value I can bring.
In the past I have put in a great deal of time and effort and I really did try to tell them and to create value, but no-one was listening.
Right now I am almost invisible.
I am still being paid and there has been no mention of redundancy yet. I do expect that to be the logical outcome, but I also think they are trying to avoid the cost.
I have made a personal choice to sit tight until they do the right thing.

#+1jcEAF8I fully agree; if you over 50 (harder to find job that employer takes people on > 50) or near retirement age then simply coast and do bear minimum - collect the $ pay check and wait for retirement / WFR.

Otherwise do bear minimum for DXC, concentrate on getting CV, Resume and interview skills update and get ready to leave DXC for better job and employer.

Utter bull . Some people have been coasting for years but still here. it’s a badly run company that exploits hardworking staff members to pick up the slack for others
