Thread regarding Imperial Oil Limited layoffs

How Could Brad Corson Talk at Today's Imperial Oil Employee Forum?

Brad Corson must of had a difficult time today talking at the employee forum with his mouth so full of bullsh-t.

Major questions were being reviewed\filtered by his minions to protect him for what employees really thought.

Most questions were around cost of living increases, employee compensation and attrition. Brad gave us a BS answers that were perfect lip service.

In 2021 employees never got any increases.

"Imperial Oil CEO Brad Corson made $8.75-million in 2021, up nearly 95 per cent from a pay package just under $4.50-million in 2020" (https://www.theglobeandmail.com/business/article-canadian-energy-ceos-see-big-jump-in-compensation/#:~:text=Imperial%20Oil%20CEO%20Brad%20Corson,under%20%244.50%2Dmillion%20in%202020)

From the responses Brad gave, it doesn't sound like employees will be getting any type of cost of living increases and that compensation is completive...but we have attrition issues .

Other panelists made comments like "if you are thinking about leaving, don't". Hard not to think about leaving when you are told "SOL on any type of increases to attack inflation"

Brad made jokes at employees expense after another panelist got hoots and applause for his response to a question. Corson said "Can I try the compensation question again to get an applause?"....try it again after pretty much telling everyone no we are not getting any type of increase.

Brad Corson....you are out of touch with reality within the company you run.

The recent Bloomberg article captures everything that is going in Exxon and its micro- managed Canadian satellite, Imperial, with a high degree of accuracy. Senior management compensation has increased sharply over the last two years despite abdicating all decision making to Exxon. The MC are a bunch of rubber stamps entrusted with returning as much cash as possible to Exxon through stock buybacks. No growth capital and no plans for the future...

Apparently Canada's 7% inflation is fairing much better than US's 8%. Not a single company / site forum has provide any average % on raises. Non of the speaker address the cultural problem. The fact that there are so many Bob's asking is a good sign that this company runs on fear instead of loyalty. But hey, at least they have finally admit the "heavily revised" ranking system is merely adding labels to each Q to enable employees to understand and take on the "challenge" to improve themselves (i.e. brown nose more and keep nodding on management's ridiculous ideas)
