You are still young and have skills that hopefully others desire. Of course if you are like the poster NEO with no other offer maybe not.

No. You are cheap working labor so safe.
If you are a recent grad. focus on work. There is no point worrying about a layoff.

Yes. No one is safe. Keep your mouth shut, head down, and get your work done, the right way, the first time.
If it's like IBM, they'll balance out taking old well paid people, by cutting a bunch of young employees so that they can't get sued as easily for age discrimination.
Depending on the area where you work. Pat loves engineering and is pretty much against all other areas, IE, Sales and Marketing at the top of the list. I would definitely put in my résumé elsewhere.

It's more difficult to advance your career when the company isn't growing.
The senior employees get stuck in their positions and leave little room for the lower ranks to advance. The revenue pie is fixed and it becomes zero-sum.

It’ll probably depend on whether the project is cut. During the 2020 layoffs, 80% of my team was cut and most affected were RCG. The ones who escaped were the ones with long tenure.
It’s up to CEO. I heard he is more prone to last in and first out…..because of the impact of what happened last time.

I think younger employees with a few good reviews under their belt are probably the least likely to be laid off unless you just happen to work on a project being cut.
