Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Who gets canned?

If you have been around since SET, ACT, or the various division eliminations from years past, you’ll know the deal.

Marketing
Sales

Those are easy. Big cuts there.

Also beware of pet projects from VPs.

Any money pit remnant from New Devices Group like IOTG etc.

Anything related to Labs like RealSense etc.

DCG is hurting.

Any suck a$s manager who doesn’t like you as well. This will be time to take revenge with office politics. Engineers getting cut? Oh yes. Absolutely. A lot of teams will get orders to cut poor performers, gray beards, and anyone who sucks.

But even though this has leaked, you have time. HR will take a month to finally cut everyone. Till then it’s knives out boys. Zero productivity. Only the paranoid survive.

Ouch? What are you 2? Company is not family. You work by choice. Work for TI, GF , TMSC…multitude of others. Also check in 2016 lots of managers fired. Id--ts herer have memory like a goldfish.

Who won't be laid off is easy: mid/upper management and their relatives. Also, not a single Intel fellow or their pet PE, and the technical assistants that are political potentates.

It will be the same as it always has been for Intel layoffs. Engineers and individual contributors will take the biggest hit, and managment will be largely untouched. Afterwards the company will be less efficient than before.

A decade of failed leadership by poisonous culture of arrogant and incompetent leadership, why is the Second ACT a surprise.

So timely, lagging technology, inferior manufacture, losing market share, delayed products, needs billions in bailout from government, oh yes just finished hiring with all that and going into a recession, so appropriate for the Messiah to be leading Intel to he-l and sl------r of the lambs!

ACT 2015 started with marketing but quickly moved to engineering. I bet you most will think it's not going be them until the meeting notice comes in. It will be quick and painful.

The majority of the names have already been decided. Notification of those on the cut-list will begin on Oct. 28.
