This is how the decision makers at Qualcomm think, that we are all replaceable and they make it very clear to everyone. Is there any way for someone to make themselves less replaceable at his/her job here? Generally speaking, nobody's job is safe, but maybe some are safer than others!?

Qualcomm is a Fortune 500 company. I would certain hope the lose of an individual would not have too much of a destructive impact.
Rather than looking at it from the negative perspective, flip it around and ask yourself if there is anything you can do to make yourself a better teammate, a more productive individual, or better informed and trained on the latest technologies.
Realize you are a professional. You have skills that are marketable. The company you work for is not the point. Today qcom pays you. Tomorrow another company will.
Become rich and become large share holder. You will have power to fire CEO.
Become a manager and blame all problems on your reports…. Get your reports fired and take all credit for their work and ideas… this will keep your job safe…. It’s the receipt for success at Qualcomm … one last thing…. Always look to cut payroll and replace American workers with H1Bs
