Half the people in IT there left during the great resignation. The writing was on the wall.
Anyone remaining was offered relocation or severance. 50% of thistle remaining never really returned to the office, and I'm sure that was seen in reports.
Hopefully the IT complainers realize that 75% of level 1 IT support is outsourced. That's why you get script readers. The one good think SJ did was to start reducing outsourcing. That number used to be 90%+
I'm not surprised.. SJ announced 2 years ago they aren't hiring anymore IT employees to Morris Plains, so I left. The writing has been on the wall for a while.

Are they closing it in early Q1 or end of Q1 to give people a chance to decide on their future?
I have not had any luck getting IT to fix anything in at least 10 to 15 years. Maybe longer. Don't want to sound like "that guy" but... Back in the day when we had IT support from competent direct employees on site things got fixed. Ya know like the guy could sit down at your computer and work on it. Not somebody on another continent that I can't even legally share my screen with.

Is the end date January? Wow … I thought I had heard end of Q1 but just reread the email “early Q1”. I know this has been planned and talked about for years but it still sucks to see it happening. Lot of good people there now without a job.
If they are not offered relocation they will be given severance and will exit in January. Only a small portion will be offered relocation to another hub.
Basically nothing.
What will happen to the few people who still work there? Will they be allowed to work remotely or required to move?
