Being put on PIP without having legitimate performance issues is certainly devastating. I found that to be the case with many who are put on PIP. Among them there are employees who could be a role model for how employees should be dedicated to their work.
What is the percentage of those who are on PIP and really deserve it? I believe it is very small.

Over 50
I know a lot of role model employee who were put on a PIP. They all had one thing in common. They were all over 50 years old. It is sad, but this is what is going on in IBM now days.
