Number 2 by ‘22 actually happened

So much for the hoopla for the 100 year anniversary. Overtaken by Progressive in 2021. What was that 20 mil bonus for again?

"Definitely part of the failing woke cancel culture. IE. @1kxn"

Only in some backwards minds is treating all people with fairness and respect wrong. Like this person.

This site seems to be a magnet for those who lack the ability, wisdom or courage to help themselves. Instead, they hope by complaining on an anonymous website that miraculously their lives will improve. Spoiler alert- not going to happen for you. Others, yes, you, no.

Trust HR? Really? That's laughable! When you have people in HR that are married to and some who sleep with management.....come on! Be real. The company retaliates for everything and anything that is said or done. I personally don't trust them. Once their in management their brainwashed to run out anyone who questions their narrative. Seen it many times. Employees live in fear. FACT!

In my departments bad or non-existent leadership was tolerated. It was much easier for senior leadership to let it slide than confront the issue. Bad leaders are much more likely to be promoted instead of reprimanded, especially if they have a powerful patron.

And speak out in front of HR? No thanks. I trust them as far as I can throw them. They reflexively take the side of the higher ranked person, unless if that person's behavior exposes the company to legal liability and brand damage.

That is not true. Especially if it is an opinion survey. I know for a fact management has been removed/demoted after a particularly bad survey. HR executive and operations executive look at the “scores” closely for outliers both good and bad. Bad ones require follow up that is communicated up. Employees can actually request HR sit in the discussion meetings if they feel retaliation is a potential. Yes, the meetings are uncomfortable. Yes they sometimes drag on for hours. But that is how bad management is discovered and ultimately dealt with.

Leadership will not change due to bad reviews or comments. The only time they will change is when things aren't working for themselves. Honest feedback all too often is akin to painting a target on your back. In most situations the only truly honest feedback you can give is in an exit interview. And then odds are it will be dismissed as the words of a disgruntled employee who didn't fit the culture.

Then nothing changes. No courage or conviction then don’t expect any management changes. That is precisely what the idea of unionization is absurd at SF. Employees won’t even speak up in a meeting that is designed to elicit feedback.

@1mqm: Brutal honesty on surveys sounds great, in theory. In practice it is punished. I was in units in two departments in which we gave low marks on surveys. Management retaliated with 3-4 hour "Let's get to the bottom of this" meetings. Of course no one was frank in these meetings out of fear, but that's not what management wanted anyway. They wanted to punish us for their low ratings. Mission accomplished. Their ratings increased the following year, even after making no substantive changes. I couldn't give positive ratings to terrible leaders so I deleted the survey emails upon receipt. I'd guess others did likewise.

I don’t think people are ‘wishing ill’ on the hand that feeds….I think it is more of a commentary about the leadership. While the company remains at the top when it comes to insurance, there are a lot of things that could be improved. Agents are still the backbone of the company. They produce 94% of the business, but more importantly they cover for the inefficiencies of operations. There are tons and tons of examples but The dirty laundry should probably stay in the locker room rather than in the public domain. What I don’t like is the lack of communication, or even gaslighting by leadership about ‘problems’ ( don’t p-e on my leg and tell me it’s raining). Leadership doesn’t tKe their cues from a job layoff board , no doubt. But if people were brutally honest on the employee and agency surveys perhaps then they would take note. The culture ingrained has always been ‘don’t complain’ because of perceived fears.

Management sent out something a few weeks ago showing that SF was beating all others and it’s not even close. While SF was gaining business Progressive, Geico, Allstate etc were losing it.

Some of y’all need to quit and go back to Walmart. Imagine being happy about false information. Just think about what something like this false nonsense would mean for SF jobs, the bonus, etc if it were true. You id--ts are too stupid to see you are wishing ill will on the hand that feeds you.

This article was based on “data” from a start up company. According to NAIC, Progressive finished 2022 virtually tied with GEICO for 2nd/3rd and trailing SF by 7 Billion in premium. Is it not odd that Progressive has made no mention of this supposedly remarkable feat? If this was true they would be holding parades in Mayfield Village.

Saw this coming long ago! When you have an accountant who looks and runs a business by numbers and forgets everything that made the company #1 (the people) what do you expect? When you make a service business a metrics and the customer a process, what do you expect? When you don't listen to the motor making strange noises, don't be shocked if it blows if you continue to drive it. When your retirees say, I wouldn't recommend anyone to work there, what does that say? When a company is involved in a RICO suit, the customer sees that. When the company takes benefits from the employees, results change. When employees are treated with disrespect and the CEO takes a huge bonus and does not give it to the mutual policyholder, what do you expect. I have always said: Wait! Their day is coming. Well HELLO SF! What did you expect? When we see the morals and ethics of leadership, the outcome is known. Example: K - 3 books! People will no longer write a check to support that nonsense. Yup. Saw it coming long ago. Gotta give progressive credit. They ran a good race keeping their eyes out of the rearview like SF! Jake got beat by FLO! He had to stop and sniff his beard.
