Well in a couple years of years most definitely. That’s when we go back to negotiations with the carriers . We will begin the three year process again . This time will be strike or One man crews . “Take the deal kid “ or we will make you . Take the backpay and run …I’ve got one tu-d contract left after this one .

I believe they will be a bit g-n shy this time. Staffing levels are already slighty above minimum, plus they realize who they cut probably wont be back. Besides, who's there to call for layoffs? Most Atlanta staff "work from home due to COVID" still!

If this is actually a serious question, and not just someone trolling, then it’s clearly being asked by somebody new to the railroad.

The level of bloodthirsty corporate greed is at all time high. Every day management is examining the operation and looking for ways to get much more work out of a lot less people…even to the point of reckless abandonment of federal law, employee and public safety and, of course, service to the customers.

But to answer the question (as if it really needed to be asked…) : absolutely. The cuts and furloughs will begin at the first sign of business volume being down. You can bank on it.

They can barely move trains now. Business would have to take a significant hit for them to cut off.

It would make sense if they did- they have a history of d-mb decisions. After they spent all the money hiring new guys quickly they would lay them off and they wouldn't come back 100%
