Certain leaders are spreading misinformation internally about certain types of layoffs/closures to intentionally instill fear and target people leaking stuff online. If you are told something that sounds off the wall by a leader who is pretty far up the chain, think before you leak it, it likely is misinformation as there is a campaign to weed out the people who keep leaking things on Reddit and here.

Why would anyone would go all out at work, knowing that it won't matter one bit, and will only let TMO cut people that much faster?

They were pretty direct about the probability of further layoffs in the All hands. Come and get all of us, Mikey. Unlike Elon and Twitter, you can't run this company by yourself.
Can you talk about the layoffs we had in August/September? Looks like no one's is talking about it until now. BS company.
