Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Intel is run by non Engineers

Yes Pat is an engineer, but who is feeding him his information?

Case in point, he told Wall Street that SPR was on track for early this year. Clearly someone in engineering had to know that was not realistic.

Until the BS slinging clowns in upper management are purged, you can expect more failures. Pat can’t operate the company with misleading data.

He should do a wide scale purge of senior management and perform direct 1:1 engineering interviews like Musk at Twitter. Anything less is a path to failure.

@qgj is right. Case in point our previous CEO BK. Chemistry major but never lost a chance to call himself an engineer. One of the worse CEOs.

Yes, but when managers give the non engineers….engineer job codes… they magically become engineers!!!

@ggo - this is the first thing I thought of.
Pat G. Has been an executive level manager for so long, I don’t see the justification in calling him an engineer.

With a large layer of yes men/women and “Circuit cheerleaders”, no often doesn’t come until it’s irreversible. Agree, a significant RIF at the upper layers is needed. Then flatten the org to speed communication and reduce the likelihood of future truth filtering.

Yeah way to many layers of management and ELT is mostly noops and DEI... Lonely at the top and near impossible to get the straight story through all the bs layers. It would send a very good signal for Pat to stop all the boastful press interviews and stay at the facilities and focus on problem solving. Intel would have to redesign it's culture, processes and org to fix things...
