I am seriously thinking about it but my friends try to discourage me from doing it.

The biggest endorsement that I can give for working at a small company is that you are valued. You can have experience and credentials, but that has little significance at T-Mobile. Smaller companies hire you for these traits, recognize the impacts of these properties, and appreciate the insights and contributions.
If this is important to you, I would advise leaving T-Mobile for smaller companies.
Also if no rush then evaluate their overall benefits like insurance plans, allowances, rsu/espp plans etc
There is no harm in joining small companies just look for their roadmap and where you will be placed. You might also get a little better base pay
it is all about working on the process in large company, you can see/work a lot of stuff when in small company
