Honeywell International Inc (NASDAQ:HON) will pay $1.3 billion to end asbestos-related claims stemming from its former unit, the industrial giant said on Friday, helping it reduce its environmental liabilities.

We all know the move to Conduent to admin the pension plan is in some way driven by Hon constant cost cutting measures. Not saying pensioners will receive less just that Conduent ( who has ever heard of them?) is charging Hon less to admin. That's probably what drove the 5% increase in dividends.

So settling this now confirms that Winter is coming!

Whoever is buying Honeywell name wouldn’t complete sale without taking this liability off the table.

Also 2023 conversion to company handling all Pensions is a move in same direction.

I think we all suspect something big is about to be announced, the new year will tell.

Where’s ‘Tired Director’ when you need him? He was always truthful in predicting the future with incredible accuracy.
